#metoo: An Invitation to Talk Consent

This presentation examines ways principles of self-determination relate to the healthy acquisition of self-esteem and self-concept, particularly regarding the development of voice, personal autonomy, and consent. Attendees should leave with ideas and resources of how to support and nurture self-esteem at various developmental phases, including ways to create a dialogue of consent in everyday interactions.

Learning objectives:

  1. Understanding the differences between self-concept and self-esteem and how they relate to self-determination
  2. Understand the idea of consent and how it relates to everyday life, not just sex and sexuality
  3. Identify ways to support the development of positive self-identity, self-expression, and self-determination
  4. Leave with access to a digital tool kit for multiple age ranges which includes suggestions for ways to start the conversation about consent, self-concept, and self-esteem.

This session was presented by Erika Fundelius and Rev. Manda Nordes on August 14, 2020.

Captions and transcripts are under production and will soon be available.
