AER is pleased to announce that we are relaunching AER LIFT! LIFT stands for Leadership Initiatives Facilitate Teamwork and is designed to empower members to become leaders in AER, thereby assisting AER to fulfill its mission to support professionals who provide education and rehabilitation services to people with visual impairments. AER needs leaders to provide support to the association and our members at both the local and international level!

Originally, AER LIFT was an in-person meeting held in the Spring before the AER International Conference in July. However, the challenges of the last decade or so have made it impossible to offer AER LIFT. We hope that a virtual version of the types of presentations previously offered, and recordings of these sessions, will bring back the spirit of AER LIFT to our most important asset, our members.

For the next several months, we will offer one session monthly via Zoom to help you build leadership skills you can use at the Chapter, Division or Board level by gaining a better understanding of AER. The first session, January 30 at 7:00 PM EST, is “What You Always Wanted to Know About AER, But Didn’t Know who To Ask” and will focus on the general operations of AER,and the structure of our Board of Directors, Divisions, and Chapters.
